I wonder if they’ll be releasing a four door version of it and if the US will be getting it. I think the A5/7 are some of the most beautiful cars in the world when they came out and for years after.

I remember reading somewhere that the biggest struggle Audi will have is making a successor for it because it looked THAT GOOD.

I mean each one to his own, but I’ve been an Audi fan since I could talk, and the A5 has always seemed disproportioned to me, and serves only as a space filler because Audi doesn’t like making coupes. I want to see them make it with a 5 cylinder, and choose between a coupe or sedan. The perk is that it is one of the only manuals still coming from Audi.

That being said, this new one definitely doesn’t look AS GREAT as the first one. I think the old A5 and A7 made the Audi family face look better when the new one looks like a perfectly good A5 with the Audi face forced onto it.

The front end looks like somebody punched it in a few times and then draped chrome on every crease.

I’ve loved the A5 ever since it was introduced, I even liked the Nouvolari concept that inspired the A5 design. Tbh, I think it’s quite the other way around, the A5 is perfect (imo) and the C Class coupe is disproportioned and the 4 er is meh.

When I mentioned VW, I was comparing mainstream design language. And I respectfully rebut your opinion with the opinion that the Mazda looks better than the A5, which looks like a scene kid baring his teeth.

Nice, thanks. I think the S5 looks much better with the splitters separated, the A5 looks like it has a dorky smile. Not sure about the lines in the hood though, that is something I’ll need to see in person.

It’s cool, I wasn’t criticizing. I definitely like the front of the S5 better. I think that leaving that lower “Smile” open makes the car look goofy in a bad way. Splitting it up with painted bits makes it look much nicer. The hood lines I’ll need to see in person.

I too prefer the bodykit of the S5 over the standart in the A5. My grip with it is the curve the hood has in the side profile. A flat hood would improve the look quite a lot.
